Panama – birds and mammals of the central and eastern regions (beyond Harpy Eagles and Great Green Macaws)

As well as the incredible ‘Harpy Eagle Day’ shown in the previous post, which also had the critically endangered Great Green Macaws and range restricted Black Oropendolas, Panama offers so much more. A huge diversity of birds, reptiles, insects and more mammals than I expected. Here’s a selection of the photos from a trip to the central and eastern regions – click on one to enlarge and see the whole picture and then scroll through.

I now realise your Harpy eagles post was just the warm-up act before this second Panama post! Fantastic range of species, it must have been a delight to experience and photograph!
