Oman – Birds (mostly) of the coastal, desert and mountain regions of north to central Oman

A selection of wildlife (mainly birds but others too) from the incredibly beautiful coastal, desert and Al Hajar mountain region of Oman. We made it as far south as the Muntasar Oasis in the Empty Quarter before circling back through the various desert and mountainous regions back to Muscat. Will hopefully return for the southern areas near Salalah in future! A stunning country and friendly, welcoming people. Click on an image to see full and then just scroll through!

Thanks for connecting us to the beautifl desert life, there is something incredibly grounding about the desert—the way the light hits the dunes, the silence, and that “endless horizon” feeling. It’s a reminder that there is a unique kind of life and vibrance in this spectacular place.

Thanks a lot Mekdi! Yes, the desert is so peaceful and the views spectacular. At first glance, it looks devoid of life, but it’s amazing what lives there! I hope that all is well!
