Panama – Harpy Eagles, Great Green Macaws and more – a day spent near Darién National Park

What a day near Darién National Park in Panama. We planned to visit a Harpy Eagle nest site in the hope to see a chick, and then wow, the adult female vocalised from afar and then flew in, bringing the chick food. Amazingly we also saw critically endangered Great Green Macaws (stunning!) and the large Black Oropendola as well as lots more. What a day in this remote and diverse region. This is a small selection of photographs of the major sightings. Click on one (in the website) to enlarge and see the whole picture and then scroll through.
